About Rockin' for Research
Why I hate diabetes
How it happened
At Rockin for Research, we are committed to creating an atmosphere of fellowship through the power of music in order to bolster public support and raise greater awareness of this humanitarian crisis.
Diabetes affects all of us and we at Rockin for Research would like for you to join our community of passionate musicians, pit-masters and artisans committed to helping those both directly and indirectly hindered by this disease.
Historically, the ADF continues to accelerate groundbreaking research, delivering innovative cures for those affected by this humanitarian crisis.
By coming together and working as a community, we can continue to expand upon 25 years success to save lives within our community and beyond.
100% of donations received from the public’s support of Rockin for Research festival goes directly to funding research as by vetted by the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation.
I decided to challenge my music industry experience, challenging some of Alamance County’s most talented musicians if they would like to collaborate on a creative campaign to raise money for diabetes research.
Some 25 years ago, my wife and I joined the Order of the Amaranth, a fraternal organization whose continued philanthropic mission is to propagate grants for the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation. Our foundation does not incur any administrative cost, therefore 100% of funds raised through efforts like Rockin for Research.
Our primary focus of Rockin for Research is to showcase local and other NC based musicians who out of the kindness of their hearts, donate their performances in order to leverage the power of music to inform the public.
In return, we do our best to promote the event, provide the artists with a merchandise tent and give them the opportunity to connect with the public by showcasing the incredible depth of musicianship in Alamance and neighboring North Carolina counties.
To expand the success of our festival, we are excited to announce that this year Rockin for Research will include a Barbecue Contest, along with a Craft fair to show-case the talent of local artisans. All proceeds from this years additions to our festival will be included in our donation pool.
In collaboration with local medical institutions, we will also be offering voluntary diabetes testing for all of those in attendance to further expand our efforts in raising public awareness.
The Rockin for Research team would like to thank you again for your fellowship and your contributions in helping the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation continued success in funding diabetes research.
We are a private initiative for the public good, focused on raising awareness of a deadly disease that directly and indirectly affects our community.
